Certificate Programs

Our Educational Technology Certificate Programs are designed to meet the needs of educators who seek to utilize new technologies in their classrooms, schools and educational settings. Participants in a Certificate Program have the opportunity to explore and improve their skills in the use of educational technologies in the classroom and beyond! Through these courses, students learn how to use a wide range of technologies, how to infuse technology into their classrooms, and how to become better teachers through the thoughtful integration of technology.

There are two Certificate Programs to choose from:

Graduate Certificate in Educational Technology
Graduate Certificate in Online Teaching and Learning

TPACK: Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge

Our program is based on the TPACK – Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge model (Mishra & Koehler, 2006). Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) attempts to identify the nature of knowledge required by teachers for technology integration in their teaching, while addressing the complex, multifaceted and situated nature of teacher knowledge. At the heart of the TPACK framework, is the complex interplay of three primary forms of knowledge: Content (CK), Pedagogy (PK), and Technology (TK). The TPACK framework builds on Shulman’s idea of Pedagogical Content Knowledge.
